The epitomy of the elegant, floral style of classic Mosel from one of the best known producers of the region. The touch of sweetness may be a surprise to those used to dry whites, but it all marries together perfectly, light, fruity and gentle with everything in wonderful balance.
The Doctor Loosen Estate Riesling with Asian cuisine, especially Vietnamese recipes.
Ernst Loosen runs one of Germany’s great estates. Situated on on the banks of Mosel near Berkanstal it has been in the family for over 200 years and possesses some of Germany’s most respected and spectacular vineyards. The nearly 12 hectares of vines are mainly Riesling. Found in top sites from the villages of Bernkastel, Graach, Wehlen, Urzig and Erden which present their own different characteristics. Riesling thrives in the soils of red slate, blue slate, red volcanic conglomerate. The dangerously steep slopes in some cases have ungrafted vines that can be up to 140 years old.
