Alberto Serenelli is a well-known grower and winemaker in Marche – particularly respected for his Rosso Conero wines. He has top quality vineyards in the heart of the Conero area (near Ancona on Marche’s eastern coast) from where these grapes are sourced. The vines grow on chalky soils at 200m altitude. The Montepulciano grapes are hand-harvested at the start of October and vinified in Serenelli’s cellar. After prolonged maceration on the skins the wine is matured – partly in small barriques and partly in large casks.
