Beronia
Beronia Rioja Reserva Edicion de Autor 2019
La Rioja, a region steeped in history and influenced by the free-flowing river Ebro and striking Cantabrian mountains. The tiny village of Ollauri lies within the decorated sub-region of Rioja Alta and was chosen almost 50 years ago to be the home of Bodegas Beronia.
Founded in 1973 by friends with a passion for fine food and the shared desire to produce wines worthy of pairing with their culinary creations, Beronia set out to create the perfect blend between tradition and innovation. The Beronia portfolio celebrates the long-standing traditions of the Rioja region, while paving way for a sustainable future.
The new Rioja winery is something of a sustainable architecture masterpiece, with every aspect of the design, building materials and day-to-day functions ensuring the lightest possible footprint is left on its beautiful surroundings.
From the unique ‘Beronia style’ blends, to the rarer single variety wines, the Beronia portfolio encompasses a wide range of elegantly crafted wines to suit all price points and palates.
The wine shows a deep, clean and bright granate colour. Complex and attractive on the nose, with prominent aromas of ripe fruit and sweet spices such as cinnamon, and cacao. Mineral and balsamic notes come through as well, adding freshness and great complexity. Prominent on the palate are notes of sweetness, nuts and a very sweet tannin. The wine is rounded, flavoursome and long with a balanced acidity that makes it very appealing on the palate.
