Klinker Brick
Brickmason Red Blend Klinker Brick Winery 75cl
Klinker Brick was founded in 2000 by owners Steve and Lori Felten, fifth generation grape growers in the Lodi region. Growing and selling grapes for wine production since 1893, the Felten’s are one of the oldest farming families.
With roots in Germany, Russia and later the Dakotas, the family settled in Lodi, first producing watermelons. Recognising that the soil and climate were ideal for growing grapes, they began to plant varieties that included Zinfandel, Tokay, Carignane, and Alicante. For over one hundred years, the family has cultivated the land with the aim of producing top quality fruit. Zinfandel was one of the first grape varieties to be planted in the Lodi appellation, although it had also been established in other parts of California.
In the vineyard and in the cellar, Klinker Brick practices premium winemaking techniques. Farmed using traditional methods, grapes are grown to promote longevity of the vines. No permit chemicals are used, rather Klinker Brick promotes healthy farming practices that naturally reduce the impact of pests. Ancient vineyards are dry-farmed, head trained, and hand harvested with only the finest clusters of grapes for us in the wines
On the nose, aromas of blueberry and toasty vanilla lead into notes of dark fruit with soft tannins on the palate.
