Domaine Berthet-Rayne Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilli Fut du Chene

A Chateauneuf du Pape by Domaine Berthet-Rayne. Using Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsault and Syrah grapes which are hand-harvested.

Full, rich, concentrated aromas of black cherries and cassis sit alongside a hint of herbs. Full-bodied and powerful in style with juicy berry fruit flavours. Blacl pepper notes and tannins provide a good structure. Will develop well for the next 5-10 years. Pair with, slow cooked beef dishes or coq au vin.

Family-owned Domaine Berthet-Rayne are now into a fourth generation of the family with 25 hectares of vines in Rhone. Planted on a mixture of clay, limestone and chalk soils, the vineyards are covered with large pebbles which retain heat during the day and radiate it at night.
