Hollenberg Assmannhausen Kloser Eberbach Spatburgunder Trocken 75cl
Title
£23.00

Burgundian-style Pinot Noir from Assmannshausen, where this grape has been cultivated since the early 16th century. 'Hollenberg' derives from the old German word meaning 'heap' or 'precipice'. This steep vineyard is almost entirely violet-coloured slate and stone - similar to that found in the Steinberg vineyard. Ripe, wild, red berry fruit with lightly spicy notes. The palate has redcurrant, bramble and red cherry fruit, and refreshing juicy acidity balancing the fine tannins. Lovely with braised meats or venison.
