Ilegal Reposado Mezcal

Ilegal Mezcal is an artisanal mezcal made in Oaxaca in Mexico, employing very traditional methods including the use of the a stone Tahona to crush the agave, which has been cooked in an earthen pit, giving it a strong smokiness.

Unlike tequila, many different agave varieties are permitted for mezcal production - Ilegal's mezcals are usually made with the Espadin variety. This Ilegal reposado mezcal is aged for four months in ex-bourbon casks before bottling and is intensely flavoured, with smoky vegetal agave aromas and flavours and a minerally, oily edge.
