Spaten Oktoberfestbier 6L Keg

£41.00

This traditional Bavarian beer takes its name from the German word for "spade" and is derived from the Spaeth family, who owned it in the 17th century. You can even find it on the brewery's symbol: a malt shovel, along with two letters on either side, G and S, the initials in honour of the first brewers, Gabriel Sedlmayr senior and junior.

Spaten Franziskaner Brau Brewery is one of the six official brewers for Oktoberfest, alongside Paulaner, Hofbrau, and Löwenbräu (which you can also find at PerfectDraft). It's a very old brewery with a well-established reputation, brewed under the Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law.

Spaten’s Oktoberfestbier pours a sparkling deep golden colour with a huge fluffy head. Soft caramel and bready malts are accompanied by grassy hops in this clean and crisp beer that was introduced in 1872. It's a terrific seasonal Oktoberfestbier.
