Thierry Navarre Vin d Oeillades 75cl

Thierry is the third generation of his family to work their vineyards, his passions are for the vineyard, for nature, for cultivating plants, especially the vines, for making wine and sharing it with friends around good tables and conviviality.

This is a small organic estate of a dozen hectares in the beautiful countryside of the high Languedoc to the north of Beziers growing grape varieties typical of the Saint-Chinian area.

Thierry also looks after a few hectares of ancient and unusual (Thierry calls them 'forgotten') grape varieties including Terret, Grenache Gris and Oeillades, from which this light and refreshing red wine is made. Oeillades is thought to be related to the Cinsault grape.

A pale cherry-red in colour. On the nose, scents of strawberries and pomegranate. Light and refreshing on the palate with further summer fruit berry flavours. The finish is short and crisp with lip-smacking acidity. Serve chilled with carpaccio of beef. Otherwise try with bouillabaisse or grilled artichokes with balsamic vinegar and fresh ginger.
